Yonder Echo is an anonymous social service for adults 18+. Operated by Yonder Echo.
Information we process
We process your Firebase anonymous account ID, language choices, preset call and reply IDs, transmission and connection times, blocks and reports. If you choose voice, we upload a recording of up to five seconds. If you choose notifications, we store an FCM device token. Do not include personal details in a recording. The original recording stays on your device. Only the processed echo, up to five seconds long, is uploaded. This effect does not anonymize your voice; do not share personal details.
Sharing and purposes
Calls, selected voice clips, language badges and anonymous IDs are shared with people viewing the mountain. Replies and the final echo go to the two participants. Voice plays only when tapped. Presence shows whether someone is currently listening. Account and rate-limit data support safety and abuse prevention.
Your choices
Microphone and notification permissions are requested when you choose those features. Sound and Firebase Analytics are off by default. If you opt into analytics in settings, we measure app opens, time to first call, replies, final echoes and response waiting time.
Retention and deletion
New calls remain visible for 60 seconds to 24 hours depending on actual usage. Exchanges last up to 60 seconds after a reply and close sooner after the final echo. Expired database entries are removed by the next hourly cleanup. General voice clips are kept for up to approximately 26 hours including cleanup time; reports and reported voice evidence for up to 30 days. Member settings and notification tokens are cleaned after 90 days of inactivity. Anonymous authentication accounts are removed on account deletion.
Account deletion and safety records
Blocks and suspension records are kept as needed for safety. Deleting your account removes open calls, active exchanges, your submitted reports, your general voice clips, notification tokens and authentication account. Reports submitted by others may remain for their stated safety retention period. See the account deletion page for instructions.
Providers and protection
We use Google Firebase Authentication, Realtime Database, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage and Cloud Messaging. Service data is processed in Singapore; authentication, messaging and optional Analytics may use Google's global infrastructure. Transfers are encrypted and access is restricted by security rules and server validation. Google may process technical information such as network addresses while operating these services.
